Isabella Fenerty portraitEastern Center for Arts and Technology (EASTERN) is proud to announce that Veterinary Science/Upper Moreland High School senior, Isabella Fenerty, has been accepted into Colorado State University’s President’s Leadership Program. The President’s Leadership Program is a fourteen-credit leadership development experience consisting of three independent year-long (two semester) academic and experiential courses designed to explore the personal, organizational, and social dimensions of leadership through coursework, retreats, and service learning. The President’s Leadership Program is considered a minor that provides classes that will train
Isabella to become a better leader on campus and in the world.

From a young age, Isabella had a passion for animals and has always wanted to care for them. When she was a sophomore in high school, she learned more about the new Veterinary Science program available at EASTERN. She visited the program and decided to enroll for her junior and senior years of high school to get a head start on her education in the animal science field.

“I chose to apply for the President’s Leadership Program because it is about understanding and learning about people’s differences, differing opinions, learning about religions, cultures, and ways of life,” said Isabella. “My experience as SkillsUSA School-Wide President at EASTERN helped me realize my leadership potential. EASTERN taught me how to open up as a person and gave me something to really work for. Now I am able to take the next step in my journey. If you are a person who loves animals and wants to
find the right career involving animals, then I say do it! But remember you are not there just to play with cute puppies and kitties, that is just an added bonus. Be ready to study hard and achieve your dreams at EASTERN!”

Isabella’s ultimate career goal includes becoming a small animal veterinarian, and eventually opening up her own private practice.

EASTERN’s Veterinary Science program provides the opportunity to prepare for careers in the animal care industry and provides students with a working knowledge of small animal industries.
