He is using the skills he obtained at EASTERN in both commercial and residential settings, such as trim work, framing and weather-proofing.

After graduating from Abington Senior High School and EASTERN’s Construction Technology program, Lehotsky wanted to get right to work. He began the job search online and started working at True North Construction in September of 2017. Lehotsky’s goal is to eventually use his construction skills to purchase, renovate and sell homes.

Lehotsky’s father also works in the construction industry, so he learned the value of skilled trades at a very young age. He has always been interested in working with his hands in an environment where he can build and improve homes and structures. As a softball coach for his younger sister’s team, he recently used his skills to build a shed for field equipment at Roslyn Park.

“EASTERN helped me a lot with framing and carpentry,” said Lehotsky. “Taking Construction Technology at EASTERN was definitely the best choice for me – and for anyone else who is looking to learn valuable skills that can lead to a successful career.”

Construction Technology at EASTERN is the first step for students interested in pursuing a successful career in the carpentry field. Career objectives include Carpenter Pre-Apprentice, Exterior Remodeling and Installation, and Roofing & Siding Helper. For more information on Construction Technology, please visit
