Eastern Center for Arts and Technology (EASTERN) was pleased to partner with Pennsylvania State Representative Thomas Murt on Friday, April 7, 2017 for an Information Exchange session, which included five EASTERN program instructors and local business and industry representatives in their correlating field. The luncheon for this event was prepared by EASTERN’s Culinary Arts students and sponsored by Centric Bank.
EASTERN instructors shared education plans and goals for five areas of concentration – Allied Health, Automotive Technology, Culinary Arts, Cosmetology, and Protective Services. Local business leaders discussed the attributes and skills needed for a new employee in their business. Local business partners included Donna Yerkes and Dave Hoffer from Luther Park, Greg Ricciardi from Lafferty Chevrolet; Debbie Candeloro, Gerald Winarski, and Dana Garber from Hair Cuttery; Col. Howard Eissler, Col. William Griffin, and Master Sgt. Chris Botzum from the PA Air National Guard, 111th Attack Wing.
“I would like to thank Representative Murt and all of the business representatives that met with us to discuss what is expected in industry and how we can best prepare our students for work,” said Tom Allen, EASTERN’s Executive Director. “Making these business and professional connections open up so many doors for our students.”
