On Wednesday, May 4, 2016, Eastern Center for Arts and Technology (EASTERN) CulinaryArts/Upper Dublin High School seniors, Matt Vighetti, Katya Ivanovski, and Molly Belitsky, along with EASTERN’s Student Success Aide, Cori Sansalone, volunteered their time at the Upper Dublin Education Foundation (UDEF) Day at George’s Dreshertown Shop n’ Bag by serving beautifully prepared chocolate covered strawberries.
Shop n’ Bag donates a large portion of the day’s receipts to the Upper Dublin Education Foundation, a non-profit community organization whose exclusive educational and charitable purpose is to support programs for the benefit of students in the School District of Upper Dublin.
“Our Upper Dublin students always look forward to this event,” said Hayley Granacher, EASTERN’s Culinary Arts Instructor. “It is a great opportunity for them to demonstrate their skills while representing both EASTERN and Upper Dublin.”
EASTERN’s Culinary Arts program enables students to acquire a variety of skills including soup and sauce preparation, preparation of meat, fish and poultry entrees, baking, kitchen sanitation, purchasing and inventory controls.
