She hopes to be placed in a bakery, in a hospital to continue her education in nutrition, or at a resort for hospitality management.

“I am very excited to travel and meet my host family,” said Hanna. “This will be my first time on an airplane and my first time traveling abroad. I am looking forward to meeting the other 24 students from across the U.S. that were chosen. This is an opportunity of a lifetime, and I am grateful to my Culinary Arts Instructors for encouraging me to apply.”

After her return from Germany she plans to attend Johnson and Wales University to major in Culinary Nutrition and minor in Dietetics.

EASTERN’s Culinary Arts program enables students to acquire a variety of skills including soup and sauce preparation, preparation of meat, fish and poultry entrees, baking, kitchen sanitation, purchasing and inventory controls.
