Eastern Center for Arts and Technology (EASTERN) 2018 Automotive Technology and Abington Senior High School alumni, James McGinn, is serving our country and using the skills he acquired at EASTERN in the U.S. Air Force as a heavy equipment operator. On September 11, days before his deployment, he took the time to visit his former EASTERN instructor, George Stahl, and speak to the current Automotive Technology students about his career pathway.
McGinn performed at a high level during his tenure in EASTERN’s Automotive Technology program. He was one of two Automotive Technology high school seniors who qualifierd for the 2018 Automobile Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia High School Auto Tech Competition. At EASTERN’s Awards presentation in May 2018, McGinn received the Bryner Chevrolet Award.
“While at EASTERN, I learned that if you have the right attitude and mindset towards your goal, you will accomplish that goal and then some!” said McGinn. “Positivity and teamwork are life lessons that I have used in all areas of my life and career. EASTERN was a great start for me, and I would encourage others who have career aspirations to take the opportunity to begin while in high school.”
The automotive industry is complex, technology-driven, and constantly changing. EASTERN’s Automotive Technology career program is designed for students who are serious about working in the automotive industry. Learn more about Automotive Technology at www.eastech.org/eastern-programs/aut/.
